Food for thought is a small catering company based in Wiveliscombe, on the edge of Exmoor, Somerset. The company is owned and run by Alison Court a trained chef with a passion for good local and organic food. Alison worked and trained as a chef before working for the Soil Association www.soilassociation.org, the organic food and farming charity, for 6 years.
We cater for all events including local events, corporate clients, weddings (www.alisonsfoodforthought/weddings), we run food workshops and wellbeing events for businesses and other organisations.
We like to use local organic ingredients to make our products and meals. Our aim is to work towards using as much local produce as possible. We work closely with local suppliers and try to change our menus according to seasonality. We support community initiatives and fundraising by donating our time or products.
We try to raise awareness of the benefits of local and organic food through events and our marketing materials and support intiatives such as Organic and Fairtrade Fortnight.
Where possible we compost our own waste and recycle waste following events.
We use biodegradble or reuseable packaging.(see our supplier website www.vegeware.co.uk)
